Elaine Keogh Millinery
Elaine won Millinery Designer of the Year 2016 at the Irish Fashion & Innovation Awards in March '16. Elaine's hats have been seen down the catwalks of London Fashion week, gracing the heads of ladies in the Royal Enclosure at Ascot along with race days and weddings around the world.
Elaine Keogh brings meditative design and exacting craftsmanship to the art of millinery. Her hats are entirely hand made using a harmony of line, material and colour.
She catches the timeless engagements of skill and imagination by infusing classic styles with a contemporary bohemian twist.
Working methodically through processes that draw out the distinctive personality of each individual client she chooses luxurious sustainable silks, laces, velvets, wools and exquisite adornments. Her traditional training, under the inimitable Rose Cory, means that her hats are resiliently constructed using age old crafts. However delicate, they never look ‘handled’.
Elaine’s approach to design and making is nurtured in the arcadian surroundings of the old mill that is her studio. A patina of rolling Irish boglands, acres of summer wildflowers and vast billowing skies all inspire a creative spirit.
Her signature evolves in a measured, confident femininity — layered, fluid, charming - infused with a gentle but unmistakable assurance. Each hat, exquisitely realised, gives its own special joy.
